Mammoth Mountain just announced the slopes will be open until Fourth of July this year, putting the ski season well into summer this season because of the record-breaking amount of snowfall they’ve received.
Snowfall this year started strong in November, and the fun stuff kept on falling month after month, bringing a whopping 606 inches to the mountain – shattering the previous high of 578.5 inches during the 2005–2006 season. Mammoth is also touting this year having one of the highest recorded base depths of any ski resort in the world, according to sources.
This isn’t the first time Mammoth has stayed open until July 4, they’ve been able to do so four out of the past seven seasons.
