There’s Still Time to Hit the Slopes for January’s Learn a Snow Sports Month – Get Free Ski/Snowboard Rentals with Beginner Lessons through Jan 31!

(Big Bear Lake – Jan. 20, 2011) – With excellent mid-winter conditions and sunny skies, it’s the perfect time to take advantage of Big Bear Mountain Resorts’ Peak Weekend Special. Purchase two consecutive day lift tickets and save $20. Prices are $118 for adults, $99 for young adults (and seniors), and $49 for children (kids age 6 and under always ski free with paying adult).

There’s just a few days left to head to the slopes for January’s Learn a Snow Sport Month, sponsored by the National Ski Areas Association. Through Jan. 31, Bear Mountain and Snow Summit are offering FREE rentals to guests 8 and older who sign up for a first-time beginner lesson, a savings of up to $30.

“With these great mid-winter conditions and our Peak Weekend Special that offers a weekend of skiing for a savings of $20, we encourage anyone who wants to learn how to ski or snowboard to come up to the resorts and take a lesson,” said Chris Riddle, director of marketing for Big Bear Mountain Resorts. “It’s never too late to learn something new, and with our GuaranSki/GuaranRide specials, free rentals with beginner lessons through the 31st, Skill Builder Parks and our Go with a Pro clinics, it’s the perfect time to learn or just improve your skiing/riding skills.”

Bear Mountain and Snow Summit also offer a GuaranSki/GuaranRide Beginner Special every day of the season. Starting at just $69 for adults ($64 for kids ages 8-12), this unique program includes four hours of instruction (2 hours a.m. and 2 hours p.m.) and a beginner lift ticket. BBMR promises new skiers/riders they will have the skills to ride the beginner chair lifts by the end of the day, or they’ll receive FREE lessons and beginner lift tickets until they can. Each special also includes a “Continuing Education Coupon” worth up to $20 off the price of the next level instruction package.

For just $20, guests can experience a fast paced one-hour clinic with a top instructor offered daily at 1:45 p.m. at the Adult Ski and Snowboard line-up areas. For advanced skiers and riders only. Lift ticket and rental equipment separate.
