US Weekly Snow Forecast for North America: Like this whole winter…it is just more of the same for the next week. If you want real snow go to the Pacific NW resorts in Oregon and Washington…with the regions and resorts around Mt. Baker getting the freshest and most consistent snow. It is beginning to be a joke…I have written almost the same forecast for the last couple of months. The Pacific-NW continues to dominate on the snowfall totals…some resorts like Mt Baker already have base depths over 200 inches and just got another couple of feet over the last week as a couple of wet...

US Weekly Snow Forecast for North America: The strong systems moving through the Pacific NW continue to pummel the area with rain, sleet, and even better snow. The Pacific-NW continues to dominate on the snowfall totals…some resorts like Mt Baker already have base depths over 200 inches and this latest storm just dumped another 3-feet of powder across its home ridge. Once these storms have cleared the Coastal Ranges they have been losing a bit of moistur but even with that loss they still seem to possess enough leftover water vapor to get the Western Rockies’ resorts like those in...

US Weekly Snow Forecast for North America: Winter went “game on” this week, at least for the SoCal and Southern Sierra region which had been basking in 60-80 degree weather for the last month or 4…instead a fast moving low-pressure scooped up a bunch of moisture from a cold pocket off the coast and started dumping all over the San Bernardino Mountains and Mammoth Lakes. That’s not all…this low is driving NE toward the Central Rockies and may arrive just in time to link up with colder storm fleeing the high-pressure that is about to steamroll the West Coast, which help drop a...

US Weekly Snow Forecast for North America: Well winter, particularly for the Pacific NW and the Northern/Central Rockies, just went from 0-1000 in about 2-days. I had been watching the storms out in the Pacific and after a particularly big one (that pushed a big ol’ ocean swell into the West Coast) a big chunk of the high-pressure had been chipped off and what was left had been pressed down across the lower half of the US…effectively opening up the storm track to head across the middle/upper half. Already the Pacific NW has been getting a solid powdery dump…but only at the higher...

West Coast Snow Forecasts suddenly got a lot more interesting. Apparently old man winter is sick of all this nice weather and is no longer kicking back. He is already stomping around the Pacific NW, kicking ass and taking names. We have already had a couple storms moving through the Pacific NW, which is why the Washington and Oregon resorts have been the only ones with any real snow. Well as you can see on the Thursday forecast chart we are actually going to get a legit looking NPAC storm…it hits the Pacific NW the hardest…(yeah that is why they actually refer to the area as a...

US Weekly Snow Forecast for North America: Almost the same story as last week…the central US is pretty much bone dry thanks to a large ridge of high-pressure that is stretching from the NE Pacific to the Rockies. About the only places that are seeing significant snowfall are the very tips of the country…with more wet/snowy conditions along Washington State and the Pacific NW…and over in the NE, basically the New England states and the areas that always get lake effect snow. About the only places that are seeing significant snowfall are the very tips of the country…with more...
